UNEP joins “Dalagan… Tabang sa mga biktima ni Yolanda”
IRIGA City --- The University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP), together with other schools and universities in the Bicol Region is set to join the Regional Fun Run slated on December 15 to raise fund for families ravaged by super Typhoon Yolanda.
Dubbed “Dalagan… Tabang sa mga biktima ni Yolanda”, the activity will be participated in by administrators, faculty members, personnel, students, parents and alumni of Higher Education Institution and Technical and Vocational Institutions in the entire Bicol Region.
The 5-kilometer Regional Fun Run, which will simultaneously take place in the six provinces of the region, is the brain child of the Commission on Higher Education-Regional Office V (CHED-ROV) to allocate additional funds for the unfortunate families affected by the wrath of Typhoon Yolanda.
The Bikol Foundation for Higher Education (BFHE) also committed its full support as co-organizer of the said activity. Target recipients are families from the areas of Leyte and Samar.
UNEP, tasked as the head institution to implement the event is busy preparing the grounds to ensure the success of the said activity. UNEP President Atty. Remelisa Alfelor-Moraleda already gave her directives to the university’s department heads to widely disseminate the information to the target participants.
Each province is divided into several clusters. The HEI’s in Rinconada will be under the Camarines Sur Cluster II with UNEP as the head institution. Under the said cluster are UNEP, CSPC Nabua, Baao Community College ACLC Iriga, CCDI Iriga, LCC Iriga and WRI Iriga.
Ceguerra Technological College, Regina Mondi College, Inc., Oliveros College, Global IT, Holy Trinity College, Phil Computer Foundation College and Pili Capital College are also part of the said group.
A minimal registration fee of P100.00 will be collected from the students, while P200.00 will be asked from the teachers, administrators and other runners. This will already serve as their contribution or share to the needy families from Samar and Leyte. Part of the amount will also be used to defray the expenses for the materials, supplies and other expenses that will be incurred during the execution of the said event.
UNEP will also accommodate Group Registration. For additional information and queries, please call UNEP Office of the President at (054) 456-0294 and look for Ms. Rosalie Magistrado. (UNEP)
