UNEP- USG affiliates NUSP
The University of Northeastern Philippines’ University Student Government (UNEP- USG) affiliates with the National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP) during the four- day DAP- AYAN 2014: 6th Luzonwide Student Leaders Congress and Student Trustees and Regents Luzon Convention last September 15, 2014 at Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives Hotel, Caoayan, Metro Vigan, Ilocos Sur.
John Khevin C. Gambal (USG President), Clinton Espallardo (USG President), Jennifer Dura (USG Senator) and Ace Buena represented the student body of the university.
The convention aims to hone leadership among students that was effectively done through the various seminars held that focused on the State of the Philippine Educational System, promote awareness on the societal problem by conducting a one- day immersion program in a remote island in Vigan, and develop among delegates their freedom of expression and responsiveness through contests on resolution making and privilege speech.
During the privilege speech contest, out of 200 delegates, the UNEP- USG President John Khevin C. Gambal qualified to the Top 9 finalists for Gawad Edgar Jopson for Outstanding Privilege Speeches. Moreover, Gambal was appointed as the Regional Secretary General of NUSP for Bicol region together with the NUSP Iriga City Coordinator Clinton Espallardo.
The event was organized by the NUSP National President Ms. Sarah Jane Elago and NUSP Vice President for Luzon Mr. John Clifford Sibayan who also shared their knowledge on leadership during the 2014 Organizational Encampment.
